Dear Fatma my old time friend,

It’s really nice to hear from you again! I knew that you would get into the basketball team. It was your first time and not only are you in the team, but you’re the Captain!!! I knew all those hours of training would pay off.

I finally have holidays and I just came back “bout a week ago. I heard you”re studying bio-technology at the University of Waikato now. Where is that? Have you ever heard of Pennsylvania? Well that’s where I was before I came back, at La Roche high school.

Anyway, this is the first time I’ve heard from you after we both left college a little more than a year ago my friend, so let’s meet up somewhere. How about at that new fast food joint…Hungry Jacks, round the corner of Bank’s street? At “bout 7 o”clock or something. We could grab something to eat there and then meet up with Jackson or Louise and catch a movie. Any idea on what which one you wanna see? I have no idea of what’s showing right now.

After that we could go round to our friend Mattie’s place, or go out and play a game of pool. Yeah! I bet I could ace you in pool now, been having lots of practice while you’ve been concentrating on your basketball trials. So, how “bout it friend; 7 o”clock tomorrow at Hungry Jacks, ok?

A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductivestructure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Magnoliophyta, also called angiosperms). The biological function of a flower is to effect reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs. Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower). Some flowers produce diaspores without fertilization (parthenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are the site where gametophytes develop. Flowers give rise to fruit and seeds. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, so as to cause them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen.

In addition to facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants, flowers have long been admired and used by humans to beautify their environment but also as objects of romance, ritual, religion, medicine and as a source of food.
